The National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released the names of several senatorial aspirants who have been disqualified from participating in its upcoming Senate primary elections.
The announcement was made public on Monday afternoon through an official press statement signed by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Felix Morka, at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
The sudden disqualification has sent shockwaves through various state chapters, as several high-profile politicians found their legislative ambitions cut short.

According to the party's leadership, the stringent decision was reached following a painstaking and comprehensive review process executed by the party’s various internal Screening Committees.
The party maintained that the evaluation was carried out in strict accordance with the ruling party's constitution, established guidelines, and pre-qualification criteria. In the official press dispatch, Morka noted:
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby releases the list of senatorial aspirants not cleared to participate in the Party’s Senate Primary Elections.
The screening exercise was conducted by the Party’s Screening Committees in line with established procedures and guidelines.”
While the party's communications unit did not explicitly outline the individual reasons for the disqualification of the affected aspirants, insider sources suggest that issues related to conflicting documentation, failure to present valid tax clearance papers, anti-party activities, and non-compliance with local zoning arrangements played a massive role in the committee's final decisions.
Political analysts expect this development to trigger a wave of petitions before the APC Primary Election Appeals Committee.
