Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) hopes of reaching the Champions League final have taken a major hit following news that star fullback Achraf Hakimi will miss the crucial semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Wednesday that the Moroccan defender sustained a severe hamstring injury.
The report, initially cited by Fabrice Hawkins, indicates that Hakimi is completely ruled out of the squad traveling to Germany next week.
PSG currently holds a slim 5-4 advantage after a high-octane first leg at the Parc des Princes.
The first match saw Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia each bag a brace, while Joao Neves also found the net.
Despite Harry Kane’s early penalty and late goals from Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz for Bayern, the French giants secured the win.
However, facing the Bavarian giants at the Allianz Arena without their most dependable defender poses a massive tactical challenge for the Ligue 1 champions.
