Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr has given fans a glimpse into the creative process behind her forthcoming third studio album, describing it as a definitive transition into womanhood. 


Speaking on Apple Music Radio Takeover, the 23-year-old star revealed that her new music reflects a journey of self-discovery, musical experimentation, and a return to the "fun" side of creativity.

The singer admitted that during her rapid rise to global stardom, she briefly felt the pressure of the industry. 


“I kind of lost the plot a bit, and I took it a bit too seriously,” she confessed, adding that she has since learned to let go of the gravity and embrace the joy of making music again.


“I’m literally becoming a woman, and it’s like you can hear that in my music now... I’m growing sonically and I want to try different things,” Ayra Starr stated.


While the official title of the album remains under wraps, the lead single “Where Do We Go” has already set the tone for what fans can expect this year.
