Police Set to Question Pastor Chris Okafor Over Alleged Scandal With Actress Doris Ogala

Lagos police set to question Pastor Chris Okafor over allegations

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed plans to invite Pastor Chris Okafor for questioning following public pressure over alleged misconduct involving Nollywood actress Doris Ogala.

The development comes amid widespread reactions and online discussions surrounding the allegations, which have drawn the attention of Nigerians across social media platforms.

Speaking on the matter, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, clarified that the Commissioner of Police (CP) did not initially order a probe into the allegations but acknowledged the growing public demand for an investigation.

“The CP did not order a probe into the allegation,” Adebisi said. “There are different allegations being levelled against the man, and we are not aware of any formal complaint.”

However, she explained that due to mounting pressure from members of the public and various interest groups, the police leadership has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to step in.

According to Adebisi, the directive is to investigate whether the allegations circulating online have any substance and to allow Pastor Okafor to present his own version of events.

“People are mounting pressure on us. There are series of allegations on other related issues. So, the CP directed the State CID to investigate whether those pressures are actually true or not, and to invite the man to come and state his own side,” she added.

The police emphasized that the invitation does not imply guilt but is part of standard procedure to ensure transparency and public confidence in law enforcement.

The controversy has once again highlighted the influence of public opinion in prompting official responses, especially in high-profile cases involving religious leaders and public figures.

As investigations continue, the Lagos State Police Command urged members of the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information, assuring Nigerians that due process will be followed.
