A tragic incident unfolded at the Whitney Museum of American Art in Manhattan, New York, on Wednesday, July 30, as a 34-year-old man died by suicide after jumping from an elevated section of the museum.
According to the NYPD, the man, who has not yet been identified, was discovered lying on Gansevoort Street outside the Chelsea-based art museum around 5:30 p.m. Officers reported that the man sustained severe injuries “indicative of falling from an elevated position.” Emergency Medical Services (EMS) confirmed that he was already dead at the scene.
