England captain Harry Kane experienced mixed emotions as he scored and then missed a penalty against his former club, Tottenham Hotspur, in Bayern Munich’s 4-0 demolition during a pre-season friendly at the Allianz Arena.
Kane, who left Spurs in 2023 for a record £86.4m move, netted the opening goal after controlling a sublime pass from new teammate Michael Olise. However, in the 15th minute, he slipped while taking a penalty, sending the ball over the bar in a rare miss.
Despite Kane’s stumble, Bayern dominated the match. Midfielder Konrad Laimer intercepted a pass from Djed Spence and assisted Kingsley Coman for a curling finish to make it 2-0.
The second half featured several academy talents. Teenage star Lennart Karl, 17, fired a spectacular first-time strike into the net from outside the box. Moments later, 18-year-old Jonah Kusi-Asare added a fourth with a dazzling long-range effort.
