Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has confirmed that superstar singer Rema gifted him ₦40 million to support the production of the music video for his track Pity This Boy.
The revelation, which emerged from a viral interview, has since sparked massive conversation on social media.
In the resurfaced clip, Odumodublvck narrated how he was advised not to release his song on the same day as Rema’s single, but he trusted his instincts. To his surprise, Rema, known for his global hit Calm Down, sent him ₦40 million as support.
“When people do stuff for you, you have to appreciate it because you don’t know where the favour is coming from,” he said. “They told me not to drop my song with Rema, but I went ahead. The same guy sent me ₦40 million to shoot Pity This Boy. Imagine if I had listened.”
This follows Odumodublvck’s tweet on June 9, 2025:
“REMA GAVE ME 40 MILLION NAIRA TO SUPPORT PITY THIS BOY RECORD. WRITE THAT DOWN IN NIGERIAN MUSIC FOLKLORE. THE MACHINE.”
The industry and fans alike have praised Rema for the gesture, seeing it as a rare act of support in a competitive industry. Many have described the move as a show of unity that should be emulated across Nigeria’s music scene.
