Former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard has testified in federal court that she personally witnessed music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs violently assault singer Cassie Ventura inside his Los Angeles home in 2009.
Richard took the stand on Friday, May 16, during Diddy’s ongoing criminal trial, revealing graphic details of an alleged assault that left the courtroom stunned. According to her, the incident occurred at Diddy’s residence, where she saw him kick Cassie repeatedly and try to strike her with a skillet full of eggs. Richard testified that Cassie collapsed, curled into a fetal position, and was then dragged across the floor by Diddy.
She further described hearing glass shattering and screams, adding that she was terrified for both Cassie and herself. Richard claimed that after the attack, Diddy threatened her and another bandmate, warning, “Where I come from, people go missing if they talk.”
Her testimony supports earlier statements made by Cassie during the trial, in which she alleged years of abuse by Combs. It also aligns with the claims Richard made in a civil lawsuit filed in November 2024 against the Bad Boy Records founder.
The judge dismissed court proceedings for the weekend, and Richard is expected to resume her testimony on Monday. The case continues to gain national attention as more disturbing details emerge.
