Chelsea's pursuit of Napoli's star striker Victor Osimhen faces a major setback as Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli is reportedly close to securing a £55.1m agreement. 

Despite Chelsea's interest and a summer-long chase, Napoli's high release clause demand of £113m initially stalled negotiations.

With Osimhen eager for a transfer and currently sidelined from Antonio Conte's squad, Napoli has relaxed its demands. 

While Romelu Lukaku’s potential move to Napoli for up to £38.1m could have facilitated Osimhen’s transfer to Chelsea, the Blues now face tough competition from Al-Ahli, who are close to finalizing a deal.
