Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández has completed a joint-British record £125 million transfer from Chelsea to Manchester City, bringing an end to one of the most drawn-out transfer sagas of the summer window.
The agreement represents the highest fee ever received by Chelsea for a player sale.
Following the completion of the deal on deadline day, Fernández took to Instagram to share a heart-felt message to Chelsea supporters, reflecting on his three years at Stamford Bridge and Cobham.
Acknowledging the frustration surrounding his departure, the 25-year-old World Cup winner explained that he had not been in a good place mentally and felt compelled to make a difficult career decision despite his deep bond with the club and its fans.
