Gunmen have abducted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman for Rogo Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdullahi Fanka, and killed two residents during a late-night raid on the community.
The attack occurred around 11:00 PM on Monday when armed bandits invaded Rogo, firing indiscriminately and killing two individuals who attempted to prevent Fanka's abduction.
The incident comes just 24 hours after the APC Chairman of Rantan Ward in Bebeji LGA, Alhaji Garba Buba, and resident Sulaiman Zunduma were killed, and days after traditional title holder Alhaji Yusif Nadabo was briefly abducted in Garun Mallam LGA.
The recurring attacks across neighboring local government areas within a 72-hour period have heightened security concerns across Kano State, prompting the Federal Government to announce plans for a five-year defense and security framework.
