The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the fatal mob attack on Basit Kolade on Freeman Street, Lagos Island, occurring just weeks before his wedding.
According to Command Spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi, the incident occurred around 10:40 pm on Wednesday, September 2, when a motorcycle collided with Kolade's black Lexus SUV.
Following an argument and subsequent collision during a reversal, an angry crowd gathered and attacked Kolade with dangerous weapons.
While women in the vicinity rescued his spouse, Kolade was rushed to Lagos Island General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. Police identified the detained suspects as Khalid Rafiq, Gafar Rahim, Ibrahim Azeez, and Samos Momoh, transferring the homicide case to SCID Panti.
