A court in Ogun State has heard details regarding the fatal crash involving former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, which tragically killed two of his key team members in December 2025.
The driver, 46-year-old Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, is facing charges of causing death by dangerous driving and driving without a valid license, both of which he denies.
Police testimony revealed that the car's occupants—including Joshua, personal trainer Latif Ayodele, and strength coach Sina Ghami—were asleep as they traveled to visit Joshua’s father on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Prosecutor Inspector Christopher Ajayi Taiwo stated that Kayode lost control while attempting to overtake a moving truck, crashing into a stationary lorry driven by Abubakar Adamu, who has also denied traffic obstruction charges.
The trial has been adjourned until September 10.
