The Federal Government of Nigeria (FG) is trending following the official rollout and distribution of start-up kits and equipment to 18,510 trained artisans.
The initiative was executed under the first batch of the Renewed Hope Vocational and Skills Training Programme, spearheaded by the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
The nationwide intervention spans all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), covering participants who completed intensive vocational and entrepreneurial training across 230 accredited skill development centers.
The practical skill tracks included automobile technology, solar PV installation, fashion design, agricultural technology, welding and fabrication, electrical installation, and catering services.
Public interest escalated after government officials confirmed that over 200,000 applicants competed for positions within the broader skill acquisition drive, demonstrating high national interest in technical and vocational education (TVET) initiatives.
Furthermore, NSIPA announced the integration of GPS tracking technology and a digital participant portal to monitor equipment usage and prevent the reselling of distributed assets.
