Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents, rescuing 31 civilians unharmed along the Buratai–Kamuya Road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Acting Media Information Officer of OPHK, Capt. Mohammed Goni, the operation relied on real-time intelligence after troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion detected terrorist movements around Dutsen Kura.
A Quick Response Force pursued the insurgents toward the Mangari-Dora area, engaging them with heavy fire.

The military action forced the terrorists to abandon 31 victims and four civilian vehicles before fleeing into the surrounding bush.
In related security successes across the state, troops of the 5 Brigade arrested six suspected terrorist collaborators in Damasak on July 27, recovering a vehicle, mobile phones, and ₦317,317,950 in illicit funding tied to cattle procurement for the insurgent group.
Additionally, the wife and 11-year-old son of a high-ranking ISWAP finance commander surrendered to troops of the 3 Battalion at Kusuma Village on July 29, following the commander's own surrender days prior.
