The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has officially lifted the ban on Christian pilgrimage travel to Israel.
The suspension, initially instituted in February following escalated regional tensions stemming from the US-Israel-Iran conflict, was lifted following a physical security assessment in the region.
The announcement was made at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem on August 1 by the Executive Secretary of the NCPC, Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite.

Adegbite confirmed that after conducting an on-the-spot evaluation over three days, the security situation in Jerusalem and the Holy Land remains peaceful and conducive for pilgrims.
The Commission clarified that approved travel routes will operate strictly through Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel. However, transit through Jordan remains suspended due to ongoing security precautions.
Bishop Adegbite assured intending pilgrims of safe arrangements while offering prayers for national peace and unity across all geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
