Nollywood actress and film producer Ruth Kadiri has opened up about her decision to keep her personal life private, revealing that an initial phobia of marriage led her to keep her wedding strictly confidential.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Dear Ife podcast, the mother of two explained that she battled anxiety over whether the marriage would survive, making her hesitant to hold a public event.
Supported by her husband, Mr. Ezerika, the couple opted for a minimal ceremony in November 2018 with just 50 guests—25 invited by each partner.
Kadiri noted that keeping her relationship away from public scrutiny allowed them to build a stable home, which has since been blessed with two daughters born in August 2019 and July 2022.
"I had a phobia of marriage... asking myself, ‘Am I going to make this decision and everything will now scatter?’ So, I wasn’t really ready to have a public marriage, and my husband was okay with it." — Ruth Kadiri, Nollywood Actress
