Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has fired back at Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, after the politician publicly mocked his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The political feud erupted on Thursday, August 6, 2026, during an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in support of party candidate Bola Oyebamiji ahead of the August 15 Osun governorship election.
While addressing supporters, Governor Okpebholo criticized Adeleke's signature dance routines, claiming the incumbent governor prioritizes entertainment over executive governance and rarely attends governors' meetings in Abuja due to late arrivals.

Responding early Friday morning on his official Instagram Stories, Davido defended his uncle by directly targeting Governor Okpebholo’s academic credentials.
The award-winning musician posted a screenshot displaying what he alleged to be Okpebholo’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results, which featured multiple low grades including D7s and E8s.
Davido's public intervention follows his active campaign support in Osun State, where he recently appealed to voters for a peaceful electoral process while endorsing his uncle's reelection bid.
The political exchanges come amidst heightened tensions in Osun State, where political leaders have clashed over campaign strategies and local governance performance. Neither Governor Okpebholo nor his official press team has publicly responded to Davido's social media post regarding the academic results.
