APC Chieftain Bashir Ahmad Claims Peter Obi Failed to Protect Aisha Yesufu’s Senatorial Ambition

Former presidential media aide and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Bashir Ahmad has claimed that political activist Aisha Yesufu is feeling demoralised after allegedly failing to secure the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Senate seat.

His comments follow statements from Yesufu clarifying that while she remains supportive of presidential candidate Peter Obi, she will not be traveling extensively across the country during his campaign tours.

Reacting via his social media handles, Ahmad alleged that Obi failed to show reciprocal political loyalty by backing Yesufu’s bid for the ticket.

He contrasted the situation with other political figures, asserting that effective political leaders actively protect the aspirations of their allies.

Yesufu, however, reiterated her commitment to campaigning for Obi whenever necessary without taking on a full-time touring schedule.

"Aisha Yesufu has every reason to feel demoralised... In politics, loyalty should be reciprocal." — Bashir Ahmad
