Popular Nigerian TikTok content creator and digital influencer, Peller, was involved in a chaotic, heated altercation with officers of the Lagos State Police Command on Thursday evening.
The high-profile confrontation erupted after the social media star was pulled over for driving a vehicle without any official registration number plates.
The incident follows a strict operational order issued by the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, mandating field officers to immediately arrest any motorist found driving vehicles without number plates or intentionally covering their registration tags due to rising security threats.
According to live accounts, Peller was operating his newly acquired vehicle when law enforcement agents flagged him down. The content creator tried to explain that the car was a very recent purchase and that official government plates had not yet been processed or issued by vehicle registration authorities.
"Things took a completely different turn after Peller began recording his interaction with the police officers. He claimed the officers became hostile to him. He alleged that one of the officers dragged his shirt and even pointed a gun at him during the argument," an eyewitness reported.
The situation quickly escalated into a shouting match when Peller brought out his mobile smartphone to film the law enforcement agents.
The TikToker alleged that the officers immediately became aggressive upon seeing the camera, physically assaulting him by grabbing his clothes and drawing service weapons to intimidate him.
