Bayo Onanuga Tackles Peter Obi Over Serial Party Defections and Tinubu Comparisons

The Presidency has strongly criticized National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi following a television interview in which he commented on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's political career and reiterated claims regarding the 2023 presidential election.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described Obi's public appearance as a failed attempt to revive his political standing.

Onanuga rejected Obi's attempts to draw parallels between their political trajectories, emphasizing that President Tinubu remained consistently within the progressive democratic tradition—from the SDP to AD, AC, ACN, and APC.

In contrast, Onanuga accused Obi of being a political nomad who repeatedly abandons political parties, citing his movements across APGA, PDP, Labour Party, ADC, and the NDC rather than building party structures.

"Mr. Obi, it is time you accepted the stark reality of the loss. Stop dreaming of a victory that you never had. You do not build; you always want to reap where you did not sow." — Bayo Onanuga
