The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme in Anambra State has officially concluded its 2025 Batch 'B' Stream I service year cycle, discharging a total of 933 corps members.
The state-wide passing-out milestones were marked by a series of low-key certificate distribution events held simultaneously across all 21 Local Government Area secretariats on Thursday, highlighting both exceptional professional achievements and administrative disciplinary actions.
Speaking at the Ihiala Local Government Council Secretariat, the Anambra State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, revealed that while the vast majority of the youth completed their national assignments with flying colors, strict disciplinary measures were applied to those who violated the scheme’s regulations.
Specifically, nine corps members will repeat their service year from scratch for completely absconding from their places of primary assignment, while two others received official service extensions for minor disciplinary infractions.
"Embrace self-reliance by putting the entrepreneurial and vocational skills acquired during the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme into practice, rather than waiting endlessly for white-collar jobs," Mrs. Pauline Ojisua urged during her address.
Conversely, the passing-out ceremony brought great gladness for five exceptional corps members who secured immediate automatic employment, having been permanently retained by their respective corporate employers due to their stellar productivity during the service year.
Coordinator Ojisua congratulated the outgoing youth, charging them to act as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria and to join the NYSC Foundation to sustain their long-term developmental partnership with the national youth organization.
