The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has achieved a major political breakthrough, successfully reconciling more than 400 aggrieved aspirants who participated in the party's fiercely contested primary elections across the state.
The crucial internal mediation effort is aimed at cementing party solidarity and fostering seamless collaboration ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The massive breakthrough was officially disclosed on Friday during a high-profile state briefing at the Government House in Dutse.
Presenting the comprehensive strategic report to Governor Umar Namadi on behalf of the Reconciliation Committee's Chairman, Alhaji Isah Muhammad Gerawa, the committee's Co-Chairman, Senator Muhammad Dudu, revealed that the panel successfully traversed all 27 Local Government Areas of Jigawa State to interface directly with both successful and unsuccessful political aspirants.
Senator Dudu hailed the exercise as a historic achievement for the state, noting that it represents the very first extensive internal reconciliation initiative ever executed by a ruling political party in Jigawa State since the formal return to democratic governance in 1999.
Receiving the official documents, Governor Umar Namadi warmly commended the dedicated 15-member committee for their unyielding commitment to peace.
Stressing that the institutional success of any political party depends entirely on collective commitment, Governor Namadi directed that the reconciliation body automatically become a permanent standing committee tasked with managing internal dialogue and party cohesion up until the general elections.
