Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has publicly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's decision to appoint his elder brother as the Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
In a video statement published on his social media handle, Isaac questioned the sudden timing of the federal appointment, alleging that the move was politically motivated following a recent courtesy visit from Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi.
The federal appointment, announced by the Presidency on Monday, places the former governor at the helm of the federal power sector agency.

However, Isaac expressed skepticism over the post, arguing that his brother deserved a higher-tier political role such as a cabinet minister or ambassadorial placement if the administration truly valued his political standing.
"Just days after Mr. Peter Obi visited me, they appointed my brother as Chairman. Why didn’t they give him the appointment all this while? They didn't even make him a minister or an ambassador."
Isaac added that Ayodele Fayose had previously pledged not to accept junior political appointments or board seats after completing his tenure as governor. While expressing doubt over whether his brother would formally accept the board chairmanship, Isaac noted that the final decision ultimately rests with the former governor.
