Afrobeats megastar David Adeleke, globally known as Davido, has officially responded to a public apology issued by his official streamer, Davrel, following an incident during the funeral ceremony of Israel DMW’s late father in Edo State.
The online controversy erupted after viral video footage showed Davrel sitting on a chair designated for Davido with his foot resting on the seat while the award-winning musician remained standing nearby, prompting security personnel and crew members to intervene.
The viral clip triggered intense outrage across social media platforms from Davido's dedicated fanbase, the 30 Billion Gang (30BG), who accused the streamer of showing severe disrespect toward the music icon.
Amid mounting criticism and online pressure, Davrel released a video addressing the fanbase, taking full accountability for his actions and tendering a heartfelt public apology to Davido and the entire 30BG community.
Davido subsequently acknowledged the gesture in the comment section, extending words of mentorship and encouragement while reminding his new team member about the responsibilities of being in the global spotlight.
