Severed Body of Local Farmer Found on UNIJOS Campus Grounds

Panic and grief gripped the academic community in Plateau State on Tuesday following the gruesome discovery of a beheaded male corpse on the Permanent Site campus of the University of Jos (UNIJOS).

The victim's headless torso was found early in the morning, with the unknown assailants escaping the scene carrying the severed head.

Confirming the horrific development, UNIJOS Chief Security Officer Mr. Agama Tangni clarified that the deceased was neither an active student nor a staff member of the university.

However, Tangni noted that the victim was highly familiar to campus residents as a local farmer who frequently visited that exact spot in the early mornings to tend to his crops.

"The identity of the deceased is known because that particular spot where he was beheaded is where he used to farm. He usually came there very early in the morning," Tangni explained.

Security authorities believe the victim was specifically monitored and targeted by his executioners.

Following the discovery, university management informed the deceased's immediate family and deposited the body at the Bingham University Teaching Hospital mortuary.

While the Plateau State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement, the university has tightened security around the permanent site to reassure students and staff of their safety as investigations intensify.
