Nollywood's Angela Okorie Explains Burning Her Outfit After Alexx Ekubo's Burial

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has sparked widespread conversations across social media platforms after revealing that she completely destroyed the outfit she wore to the burial ceremony of late actor Alexx Ekubo.

The vocal movie star took to her official Instagram page to share the personal action, describing it as a protective measure rooted in cultural or spiritual guidance passed down to her.

According to Okorie, the choice to set the garments ablaze was heavily influenced by advice from her godmother, who cautioned her against keeping clothing items that have been exposed to the atmosphere of a burial ground.

Believing that holding onto such apparel could carry negative connotations, the actress deemed it necessary to discard the outfit entirely by fire.

“This is the outfit I wore to Alex’s burial. My Godmother said it is not good to have the cloth you wore to a burial around you; you burn them. So family and friends take note. I felt I should share this information,” Angela Okorie stated.

Concluding her social media update with a brief prayer for her circle and followers, she added, “May the Lord keep and bless us with long life. Amen. Chai.” The revelation has since triggered mixed reactions among fans and cultural commentators, with many debating the validity of such traditional practices regarding mourning and spiritual hygiene within the modern entertainment industry.
