How Maduka Okoye Passed on a Nigerian Billionaire Heiress’s Advances

Popular Nigerian sports journalist Oma Akatugba has sparked a massive social media frenzy by revealing that Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye once flatly turned down romantic advances from the daughter of an unnamed Nigerian billionaire.

According to Akatugba, the elite dismissal occurred during Okoye's developmental career phase while he was still playing for Dutch Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam.

The journalist recounted visiting the shot-stopper at his Netherlands residence, where Okoye casually presented his phone displaying a direct message from the wealthy heiress.

Akatugba admitted that he instantly tried to convince the dual-national goalkeeper to pursue the relationship, emphasizing the immense leverage and societal influence of the lady's elite family background.

However, Okoye remained entirely unfazed by the multi-billion Naira profile, explicitly stating that the billionaire's daughter did not match his personal aesthetic preferences or romantic blueprint.

“One day I was at Maduka’s place while he was still living in Holland, and he showed me his phone.

He had a message from the daughter of a Nigerian billionaire," Oma Akatugba shared on his official X handle. "I screamed, ‘Bro, this one ma big fish o!’ He laughed and said, ‘Yeah, but she’s not really in my league beauty-wise.’”

Ever since making his international debut for the Nigerian national team in 2019, Maduka Okoye has been the subject of intense adoration from female football fans across West Africa, with many frequently praising his distinct looks, tall frame, and athletic physique.

To curb the overwhelming influx of public advances and social media pressure, the goalkeeper later clarified his relationship status.

Okoye has long been committed to Dutch model Jelicia Westhoff, with whom he shares a son named Isaiah Emil Okoye.
