FAAC Document Reveals 170% Surge in Military Intervention Funding in 2026

The Federal Government of Nigeria has disbursed N5.15 trillion in special intervention funding to the Armed Forces of Nigeria and allied security agencies between November 2023 and September 2026 to combat terrorism, banditry, and mass abductions nationwide.

Official records from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) presented by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation show that N5.65 trillion was received into a dedicated military special intervention account, with 91.15 per cent disbursed through 30 distinct transaction cycles.

Financial analysis reveals a dramatic funding increase in 2026, with monthly disbursements jumping from N100 billion to single-tranche releases of up to N500 billion financed through non-oil revenue transfers.
