The Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has taken aggressive measures to neutralize public anxiety by conducting an extensive, on-the-spot security infrastructure assessment at Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) in Lekki.
The high-level security deployment followed the rapid digital circulation of a viral video clip showing two unidentified masked individuals emerging suspiciously from a dense forest area bordering the university campus.
Accompanied by tactical operational personnel, the Lagos police boss initiated the field evaluation to restore peace of mind to students, academic staff, and parents.
During the rigorous campus tour, CP Jimoh held an emergency strategy session with the institution's top management team to audit and reinforce the university’s internal security architecture.
He offered practical blueprints concerning advanced perimeter protection, stringent access control measures, and direct communication loops with federal security networks, while cautioning the board against operational lapses that could inadvertently compromise safety.
“The Command remains committed to the protection of lives and property across Lagos State,” CP Olohundare Jimoh affirmed, calling on the university community to promptly report any abnormal movements.
To solidify the security perimeter, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), heavily backed by the Lagos State Government, has fully deployed high-resolution surveillance drones to monitor the thick foliage and adjacent communities within the Ibeju-Lekki corridor.
The introduction of these advanced drones will drastically upgrade aerial intelligence gathering, real-time tracking, and proactive crime prevention.
CP Jimoh concluded the visit by guaranteeing that response teams are stationed on high alert to handle emergencies swiftly, ensuring the university remains a secure haven for learning.
