The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled a prominent Badagry royal princess and the party's current Deputy State Woman Leader, Hon. Damilola Sonayon-James, as its definitive deputy governorship candidate for the highly anticipated 2027 general elections.
The strategic announcement was formalised through a public layout statement signed by the Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, confirming that the 41-year-old governance expert will run side-by-side with the APC governorship flagbearer, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, who recently secured the ruling party's primary mandate to succeed the current administration.
Ojelabi explained that Sonayon-James emerged at the apex of a highly rigorous vetting and selection protocol that thoroughly evaluated technocratic competence, grassroots structural acceptance, unyielding institutional loyalty, and a proven capacity to drive the structural development of Lagos State.
