Three Suspects Nabbed for Abducting Ikere-West LCDA Boss Rufus Olorunfemi

The Ekiti State Police Command has launched a comprehensive criminal investigation after arresting three suspects directly linked to the armed conspiracy, abduction, and physical assault of the Chairman of Ikere-West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Rufus Olorunfemi, and his associate, Mr. Funso Ajayi.

Confirming the incident via an official security bulletin issued on Friday, June 5, 2026, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Sunday Abutu, revealed that the violent breach occurred on the night of Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at approximately 9:00 PM along Anoye Street in the Ikere-Ekiti axis.

The victims were suddenly intercepted and cut off by three Toyota Hilux vehicles packed with armed men unlawfully dressed in military camouflage uniforms.

According to preliminary police intelligence, the armed assailants bundled the local council boss and his companion into the vehicles and transported them to the private compound of a well-known local politician whose identity is currently being analyzed by state detectives.
