Seriake Dickson Urges Nigeria's Judiciary to Resist Contrived Political Shenanigans

The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Seriake Dickson, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are heading toward a massive electoral defeat in the 2027 general elections.

Dickson made the bold political declaration on Sunday during a live appearance on 'Politics Today,' a flagship current affairs program broadcast on Channels Television, where he evaluated the current socioeconomic climate and the preparedness of the opposition.

The former governor stated that his projections are rooted in a deep understanding of the clear yearnings and unmet aspirations of the Nigerian electorate under the current administration's economic policies.

Dickson emphasized that while the NDC remains positioned to open up and contest the political space aggressively, the ultimate verdict lies in the hands of everyday Nigerians who are eager for a directional shift in governance. He stressed that the upcoming general election cycle must be allowed to play out transparently without institutional interference.

"As leader of the NDC, and as a Nigerian who knows the feelings and the yearnings of Nigerians, we believe that the APC government, APC as a party, and President Tinubu will be defeated massively," Chief Seriake Dickson asserted.

A major highlight of Dickson’s media outing was his direct appeal to the leadership of Nigeria’s judiciary, describing the institution as the ultimate balance holder of national democracy.

He cautioned judicial officers against allowing desperate politicians to weaponize court processes to authenticate or legitimize morally reprehensible outcomes.

Warning against what he termed "contrived legal shenanigans," the NDC chieftain emphasized that preserving the integrity of the judicial arm is critical to preventing the truncation of the nation's democratic landscape.
