West Ham United's hopes of retaining their English Premier League status are hanging by a direct thread following a devastating 3-1 defeat against Newcastle United at St. James' Park on Sunday afternoon.
The setback leaves the Hammers rooted in 18th place in the drop zone, piling immense pressure on manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
The traveling London supporters did not hide their immense frustration during the match, loudly chanting that the players were "not fit to wear the shirt" after witnessing a chaotic defensive performance.
The tactical system deployed by Nuno completely collapsed within the opening twenty minutes of the game.

A major distribution error from West Ham goalkeeper Mads Hermansen to defender Jean-Clair Todibo allowed Newcastle's Harvey Barnes to steal the ball and set up Nick Woltemade, who hooked it home to score his first league goal since December.
The Magpies doubled their advantage just four minutes later when midfielder Jacob Ramsey drove forward to find William Osula, who calmly slotted the ball through Hermansen's legs.
Osula went on to grab his brace in the second half, firing home from a clever Joe Willock cutback after a quick one-two sequence.
Following the final whistle, a dejected Nuno admitted to reporters from Sky Sports and BBC Sport that his team selection and tactical approach backfired completely. Nuno confessed:
“This is bad, bad. Overall bad performance. Too many things went wrong. I think we gifted them the goals. Really disappointing. Look, it's going to be a tough week for us. We realise the situation is extremely difficult for us. If you look at the game, then probably, yes, I got my team selection wrong.”
Though second-half substitute Valentin Castellanos pulled a goal back for the visitors with a stunning, first-time long-range effort to spark a late surge, the Magpies held on firmly to move up to 11th place, keeping their slim hopes of European qualification alive.
With vastly inferior goal differences compared to their closest relegation rivals, West Ham now require a footballing miracle to survive.
The Hammers are currently two points behind Tottenham Hotspur with only one match left to play against Leeds United at the London Stadium.
Their relegation fate could be mathematically sealed as early as Tuesday night if Tottenham manage to secure a victory or a draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
