The Nigerian and African diaspora communities in the United Kingdom have been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden passing of Kayode Ogunbodede, popularly known within social circles as "Kay."
The dedicated father of two reportedly passed away peacefully but unexpectedly in his sleep in the early hours of Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at his residence in Swansea, Wales.
Ogunbodede was widely regarded as a deeply peaceful, calm, and supportive figure who actively served as a devout member of both the Elim City Church in Swansea and the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
To alleviate the devastating financial shockwaves hitting the family, community organizer Olatunde Owoeye-Phoster launched a GoFundMe appeal with a target of £18,000 to assist with urgent funeral expenses, immediate childcare bills, and everyday sustaining costs.
