A Rivers State High Court sitting in the capital city of Port Harcourt has convicted and sentenced twin brothers alongside five other criminal accomplices to death by hanging for the coordinated abduction and subsequent murder of a prominent Christian cleric, Rev. Edwin Dokubo-Harry.
The horrific capital offense was committed over a decade ago, on December 6, 2013, within the Abalama community located in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Delivering the final judgment on Monday, the presiding judge, Justice Boma Diepiri, held that the prosecution successfully proved the ingredients of the 25-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, murder, and the unlawful possession of firearms against seven of the accused individuals.

The convicts were identified by the court as Precious Jack Opera, Answer Dick, Osaki Fubara, Prince Mikado Philip, Tienabeso George, Seleipri Fubara, and Alaboeriya Fubara.
The court heard how the gang lured the unsuspecting cleric into a thick forest in Abalama, where they blindfolded him, bound his hands, and subjected him to conditions that directly caused his death before dumping his corpse into a nearby mangrove creek.
Justice Diepiri ordered that the convicts "be hanged by the neck until confirmed dead," while discharging and acquitting two other co-defendants, Emmanuel Israel and Nephew Philemon, due to a lack of definitive incriminating evidence connecting them to the crime scene.
