Operatives attached to the Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force, executed a highly coordinated joint sting operation, uncovering a massive narcotics network operating out of an upscale residential estate in Mende, Maryland, Lagos.
The targeted raid culminated in the interception and recovery of hundreds of bags filled with suspected "Canadian Loud"—a high-potency, imported synthetic strain of cannabis—boasting an estimated street market value of approximately ₦7.8 billion.
The successful operational breakthrough followed months of intensive surveillance and technical intelligence gathering spearheaded by specialized intelligence assets.
Under the tactical field direction of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Jimoh, and deployed alongside the Special Protection Unit (SPU), tactical teams successfully breached the hideout on May 19, arresting several key actors, including the suspected cartel kingpin, 41-year-old Eke Henry Ifeanyi.

In a desperate bid to evade justice, the suspect offered an instantaneous cash bribe of ₦500 million to the SPU Commander on the ground, requesting the law enforcement team to temporarily stand down and allow his criminal associates to safely evacuate the illicit multi-billion naira inventory.
The SPU Commander promptly rejected the half-billion-naira inducement, officially documenting the bribery attempt to form part of the state's ongoing criminal prosecution.
