Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele has taken to social media to criticize Air Peace after she and hundreds of other passengers were left stranded at London Gatwick Airport on Friday, May 1, 2026.
Akindele lamented that passengers, including families and the elderly, had been waiting since 6:30 am without clear updates or access to their luggage.
“After hours of delay, we were told there was a bird strike and promised a hotel. Hours later, people are still sitting at baggage claim hungry and exhausted,” Akindele posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Air Peace has since apologized, citing safety protocols following a bird strike as the reason for the delay.
The airline assured the public that teams are working to provide assistance, but Akindele continued to demand immediate action as the delay stretched past 4:00 pm.
