The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has described the recent Supreme Court ruling as a significant victory for the rule of law.
Speaking on Channels Television's The Morning Brief on May 1, 2026, Abdullahi welcomed the decision to set aside the status quo order, which allowed INEC to restore Senator David Mark as National Chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary on its official portal.
Despite the victory, Abdullahi cautioned that the legal struggle is far from over. “When you win a battle, you celebrate it; that does not mean the war is over.
This is going to be a long war,” he stated. He alleged that opposing political interests are attempting to deregister the ADC ahead of the 2027 elections to limit viable alternatives for Nigerians.
