Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has achieved a landslide victory in the presidential primary elections of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) held across Yobe State, charting a definitive course for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the official internal balloting figures declared late Monday night by the designated state returning officer, Ma’am Kyari, Atiku dominated the polls by gathering an overwhelming total of 44,841 grassroot votes from card-carrying party members.
The keenly contested exercise utilized the historic Option A4 voting methodology, requiring party faithful to openly queue behind the portraits of their preferred national contenders.

The official results confirmed that Atiku's closest competitors trailed significantly, with Mohammed Hayatu-Deen securing 365 votes, while the former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, polled 303 votes respectively.
Speaking after the close of the collation exercise, the ADC governorship flagbearer in Yobe State, Alhaji Kashim Gana Geidam, praised the exceptional discipline and peaceful conduct displayed by party delegates across the regional wards.
Geidam emphasized that the transparent nature of the primary positions the ADC as a credible, unified alternative platform equipped to challenge President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general election cycle.
