The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has suspended Reverend Ifunaya Maduka, the Vicar of St. Paul’s Parish, Nteje, following shocking revelations of "arrangee" miracles and manipulated prophecies.
The suspension, ordered by the Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Owen Nwokolo, lasts for six months without pay.
In a stern letter dated April 27, 2026, the Bishop revealed that Maduka was confronted with evidence of hiring and inducing individuals to stage-manage prophetic manifestations.
According to the Diocese, the priest admitted to the unholy practices during a personal confrontation.
“Your conduct raises grave ecclesiastical, moral, and disciplinary concerns... deception of the faithful and conduct capable of amounting to obtaining money under false pretence,” the letter stated.
Maduka has been ordered to vacate the church premises and hand over all parish properties within four days as a disciplinary panel investigates further.
