The late model and exceptional screen icon, Alexx Ekubo, tragically passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the age of 40.

According to official health disclosures signed by the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family, he peacefully but prematurely took his final breath at Evercare Hospital in Lagos following a courageous, private battle with severe medical complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.

The family has since unveiled formal burial arrangements, setting a Service of Songs for June 10 in Lekki, Lagos, followed by an interment service on June 18 in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State.

Ini Edo urged members of the public to navigate to the link embedded directly in Alex’s official social media bio to drop their entries, while warmly thanking Nigerians for their non-stop spiritual intercessions and emotional support.
