The race for the 2025/2026 Premier League title has reached a fever pitch following Manchester City’s decisive victory over league leaders Arsenal on Sunday.
The win brings the defending champions within just three points of the Gunners, with a crucial game in hand against Burnley scheduled for Wednesday.
Should City secure three points at Turf Moor, they will ascend to the top of the table on goal difference with only five matches remaining.
Despite the shift in power, City manager Pep Guardiola remains cautious, urging his squad not to lose focus during this period of high momentum.
"I am happy because we can extend the hope. Momentum shifts in one instance," Guardiola stated. "The reality is just one thing: they are top of the league. One ahead on goal difference. We have to enjoy it, but don't lose focus. In three days we go to Burnley."
For Mikel Arteta and Arsenal, the pressure is on to rediscover the form that kept them clear at the top for most of the season.
With both teams still competing on multiple fronts, including the Champions League, pundits suggest the title could be decided by the narrowest of margins on the final day.
