Cultist Attack in Anambra: Amputated Father Mourns Son Hacked to Death in Nnobi

Grieving family members and sympathizers at the Agwuncha compound in Nnobi, Anambra State

A visually impaired and amputated father, Emmanuel Agwuncha, has been thrown into deep mourning following the brutal murder of his son, Emeka, by suspected cultists in Ngandam village, Nnobi, Anambra State.

The victim was reportedly lured to a location on Saturday evening, where he was attacked with machetes, blocks, and clubs by four assailants aged between 23 and 28.

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene at Umuru Junction as traders and motorists fled for safety while the attackers walked away unchallenged.

The killers allegedly dumped Emeka’s lifeless body at his father’s gate before fleeing. The grieving father revealed that Emeka was his primary caregiver and sole means of survival.

“I am blind, and my legs were amputated... I am still alive today because of this son they have killed without any provocation. I need justice,” the elder Agwuncha pleaded.

The Nnobi Police Division has arrested five suspects, including a local "doctor" in whose compound the murder allegedly took place.

The case has been transferred to the State CID in Awka for a discreet investigation.
