The Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for the Osun governorship election, Oluwole Oke, has declared that Governor Ademola Adeleke will not be re-elected on August 15, 2026.
Speaking at the inauguration of the APC campaign committees in Osogbo on Wednesday, Oke asserted that the APC possesses the "expertise" required to unseat an incumbent.
He criticized the current administration for incompetence and the alleged plundering of state resources. “We will remove Adeleke before 10 p.m. on August 15, 2026. Our candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, will emerge,” Oke stated.
In a swift reaction, Oladele Bamiji, Deputy Spokesperson to Governor Adeleke, dismissed the claims as "manufactured lies." He insisted that the people of Osun are grateful for the current administration's improvements in schools and hospitals.
Interestingly, the report notes that Governor Adeleke is seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party, while Oyebamiji represents the APC and Najeem Salaam runs under the ADC banner.
