Businessman Olakunle Churchill has shocked fans by claiming that he was never legally married to actress Rosy Meurer, dismissing recent reports of a divorce as baseless.
In a lengthy Instagram statement posted on Wednesday, Churchill clarified that their union was only an "introduction ceremony" and lacked church or court validation.
"There was no legally recognised marriage... Therefore, the idea of a ‘divorce’ is baseless from the outset," he wrote.
He also accused legal practitioners of giving Meurer poor advice and rushing to produce "mango tree" divorce documents.
Churchill further revealed that he has privately reconciled with his ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh, stating they have both chosen to forgive each other.
Addressing Rosy Meurer's recent "rebirth" video where she dropped his surname, Churchill downplayed her support during his past trials, stating that if she hadn't been there, someone else would have filled the role.
