Nigerian Troops Neutralize 30 Insurgents and Destroy ISWAP Logistics Boats in Borno
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have delivered a major blow to ISWAP insurgents, neutralizing over 30 terrorists and destroying several logistics boats during precision air strikes along the Lake Chad waterways.
The operation, which took place between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, targeted the Kaniram Island axis in Northern Borno State.
According to Lt Col Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for the Northeast Joint Taskforce, air assets confirmed a concentration of over 30 boats coordinating resupply movements before engaging them.
Post-strike intelligence revealed significant enemy losses, including evidence of mass burials by surviving ISWAP elements near Mallam Fatori.
Additionally, a related strike in the Sowolwolo axis of Sambisa Forest successfully took out three terrorist gun trucks.
The Military High Command has commended the troops for their "impressive battle performance" as ground forces continue to dominate the area to prevent any regrouping of fleeing elements.
