Chelsea Dismiss Head Coach Liam Rosenior After Disastrous Five-Game Losing Streak
FIFA Club World Cup champions Chelsea have officially sacked head coach Liam Rosenior following a brutal run of results that saw the club lose five consecutive matches without scoring a single goal—a negative record not seen at Stamford Bridge since 1912.
The 41-year-old, who was appointed in January 2026 to replace Enzo Maresca, lasted only three months in the west London dugout.
Despite a stellar previous record at Strasbourg, Rosenior managed just 11 wins in his 23 games in charge.
The final blow came on Tuesday with a 3-0 defeat at Brighton, leaving the Blues in seventh place and severely damaging their hopes of UEFA Champions League qualification.
In an official statement, Chelsea noted that the decision was not taken lightly but emphasized that "performances have fallen below the necessary standards."
