The Lagos State Police Command has officially confirmed the death of a man identified as Adedipe Adeyinka, popularly known by his alias, “Agali.”
The incident occurred late Friday night on the National Stadium Bridge inward Iponri, Surulere.
According to a statement released via the command's official X handle, the victim was shot at approximately 11:30 PM by unidentified gunmen.
Following the attack, Adeyinka was rushed to the Mainland General Hospital in Yaba, where medical personnel later confirmed him dead.
“Investigation is ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the police stated, responding to eyewitness accounts circulating on social media.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been made at this time.
Residents of the Surulere axis have expressed concern over the brazen nature of the attack, calling for increased night patrols around the Stadium and Iponri areas.
