Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have apprehended a 15-year-old boy suspected of being a high-value logistics courier for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
The arrest, which took place in Ngamdu, Borno State, was highlighted on Sunday by renowned security analyst Zagazola Makama.
The suspect, identified simply as Tijjani, was caught while allegedly attempting to procure supplies for insurgent groups operating along the Ngamdu–Benisheik axis.
During preliminary interrogations, the teenager made a startling confession, admitting to his participation in recent violent attacks in the region.
“I was sent from Jilli yesterday with N850,000 to collect some logistics from Ngamdu, but I was arrested by troops,” Tijjani reportedly confessed.
According to the suspect, the insurgents utilize Jilli—a notorious hideout in Gubio Local Government Area—as their primary base for mobilization.
Military sources indicate that this arrest exposes the persistent use of child couriers by ISWAP to move large sums of money and supplies across security checkpoints undetected.
